Foreword
Please believe that when someone who is always negative and pessimistic, saying day and night that everything is impossible, just a moment of thanksgiving can bring about a miracle, like the parting of the Red Sea. It is my earnest desire that Pyungkang Cheil Church becomes a blessed, spiritual church overflowing with thanksgiving. When you give thanks, thoughts of defeat, feelings of failure, and anger disappear. A negative person becomes positive. Someone who was once venomous and wicked suddenly becomes as gentle as a lamb. When thanksgiving enters our
hearts, God begins a creative work in our hearts.
If you give thanks during times of prosperity, continued prosperity will follow. Thanksgiving begets more thanksgiving, and gives birth to miracles. When Jesus gave thanks before God for the five barley loaves and two fish, over 5,000 men were fed—more than 20,000 people including women and children. Everyone ate till full, and twelve baskets of food were still left over.
Thanksgiving is the master key that unlocks every problem. A thankful person possesses the key to heaven. It is the key of blessing that opens the gates of heaven. But a person without thanksgiving will find everything locked and blocked. There is no open door for them to enter through. With thanksgiving, the gates of earth as well as heaven are opened, and there is no enmity between each other. A person who doesn’t know how to sing songs of thanksgiving cannot gaze upon or receive God’s glory and won’t be able to enter the realm of His glory. “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thess 5:18).
Whether you are happy or sad, or when suffering injustice, “I am thankful, I am thankful, I am thankful.” “God, You know how unjustly I’ve been treated. But I thank You that even in this injustice, I can still pray to You.”
Thanksgiving is the moment we grasp God’s will, the moment we carry out His will, and the moment we are seated on the throne of His will. “Thanksgiving is a holy offering that pleases God, a spiritual act of worship, and the moment we glorify Him.” That’s how precious thanksgiving is. Believe this: that there is no such thing as “never” or “impossible.” Everything will go well and prosper, now and forevermore.
Colossians 3:15–17 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
