Dreams of the Family
When we look at families in South Korea today, outwardly they all appear healthy and polished, like side-dishes glossed with sesame oil. But in the midst of praying to save families that are drying up and becoming desolate, I searched through the Bible from Genesis 2 to the Book of Revelation, especially Psalm 19, 103, and 119, Proverbs 16, Isaiah 55, the Song of Songs, and Ephesians 1:17–18. From these passages, I wrote this hymn:
“You are my bride of faith, fair and lovely art thou,” Man and wife serenading each other with hymns of love. “Full of affection, eyes like a dove, you are my bride, pure as the lilies. My heart beats faster, faster.” As sweet as honey is [a] man and his wife singing to each other in love. Garden locked up, spring closed up, a fountain sealed up. Rise up and come along [to the] Garden of Love! The grace of God is the fragrance. [How] youthful is our love!
The teachings of the Word of God is the sweet rain of life. O, the sweet rain of God falling on [the] hearts of saints. Like the honeycomb, grace so sweet brightens my eyes of the spirit. Youth [renewed like that] of an eagle, my heart beats faster, faster. I shall mount up with wings of eagles, soaring high up to the Lord. Saints of grace who have the Word are youthful as the eagle. Rise up and come along [to the] Garden of Grace! The Word of God is the fragrance, [the] sweet aroma of youth!
The Word of God is evergreen; youth[ful] is the world of spring. [I am] joyfully, eternally singing the hymns of love. Youth of grace, love is in the spring air! All of the trees in paradise give me warm greetings, whispering softly, softly. The gospel’s fragrance, [the] family of faith singing to each other in love. Word of life! Spring of youth! The family of grace! Rise up and come along [to the] Garden [of] Paradise! The love of God is the fragrance, [the] sweet aroma of God’s grace!
Jeremiah 31:1 “At that time,” declares the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.”
God says that he is the God of the family. When He becomes the God of the family, everyone responds in unity. There is no discord and no distrust. In this way, I once again bless each and every Pyungkang family in the name of the Lord, that you may become a family that exceeds God’s expectations and desires… fragrant families, families of faith, families of blessing, and families with renewed youth like the eagle.”
