Foreword
Foreword
“Go forward!” This command in front of the Red Sea is God’s order to step into it. But the result of moving forward was not stepping into water but onto dry ground (Exod 14:16). This was dry land in the midst of the sea. It was land that is usually not visible, land that cannot be seen, land that cannot be stepped on. Only those who go forward can step onto this dry ground in the midst of the sea. This is, of course, a march of faith. It’s a march of absolute obedience before the Word (Exod 14:22, 29; Heb 11:29). It is land that only people of faith can witness, step on, and walk through.
Beloved saints, I believe that without exception, waves of all kinds of sin will surge this year. Waves of economic hardship, waves of illness, waves of unbelief, waves of political unrest—countless waves will rise within each church and denomination. Though the storms of history may try to block our march toward Canaan, only those who believe will be able to enter in.
Satan will also tempt us, trying to lure us back to Egypt. Many will feel threatened from concerns of business, children, or finances. But at dawn God will speak to each household, “I will fight for you! Do not fear! Do not be discouraged! Do not be terrified!” And then He will command, “Go forward!” May you have a faith that moves forward in every part of your life. May you be blessed to move forward in your finances, in raising your children, in your workplace, and in your studies. And above all, may you go forward in your spiritual life. Move forward in your life of Bible reading! In your life of prayer! In your life of praise and worship! Move forward in your lives of thanksgiving, tithing, giving and charity, and all the more in evangelism! If we hesitate or waver before this command, Satan will try to chase us down. Like Abraham, who obeyed the Word without hesitation (Gen 12:4), may this year be one in which you experience the victory of salvation. “Go forward, all you saints!” May this year be a blessed year of moving forward, and I bless this upon you in the name of the Lord.
